A walk to the supermarket

6 Mar

Steezy

The weather was amazing, so I decided to take a walk to this giant supermarket which I discovered the other day by chance.

Sunlight + white curtain

5 Mar

The sunlight was nicely lighting the white lace curtain, and i couldn’t help myself from trying out a product photography.

I didn’t do any retouching to these photos except add watermarks.

The setup is simple: the lace curtain is back lit by the sun, and the object is placed on a small box covered with a piece of white paper. I used the pop-up flash of the camera to soften the shadow.

Btw, the Cactus V5 and Monitor X just came like 2 hours ago!! Will post more detailed pics and a short review if I feel like it.

Little adventure

5 Mar

There is a huge industrial area in Landshut where all the big home depots and electronics stores are.

It’s a fairly long walk, but I had time on my hands and I felt like taking pics along the way.

A walk through the woods

5 Mar

These pics are from January.

The weather was nice one day so I decided to walk through the woods till the castle up in the mountain.

The tall tower is the tallest brick church tower in the WORLD.

I also found 2 German Banksy!

I thought I put watermakrs on them….why aren’t they there…

Amazing video

From Planet5D:

“Tick Tock” is a Canon EOS 5D Mark II (reviews) short that is going viral – posted on Feb 22, it has well over 300k views, and it won Best Picture at the Emory University’s Campus MovieFest 2011. Another really great thing about this for those of us budding filmmakers, is the movie maker Ien Chi included a ton of behind the scenes videos (see below). A successful kickstarter.com project, Ien walks us thru the entire filmmaking process including the talent search thru the final production and even the award ceremony where they won first prize.

What would you do if you had only five minutes to live? Trace a young man’s few minutes of trying to fulfill his life’s highest potential.

Never have I put in so much effort into a single short film. This project is the result of hundreds of hours of work from many people. Originally made for Campus MovieFest, this film is definitely the biggest scale and most ambitious project I’ve ever done. Watch in HD and with good/loud sound! Watch my other films!

We just won Best Picture at the Emory finale event. We will be competing internationally at Hollywood in June! I have also been nominated as one of five people in the nation for the Best Director Award for CMF.

Filmed with a 5d mark ii camera with a 24-70mm lens on a steadicam merlin. We did 36 takes to get the right one. Morgan and I went running weeks before to get our cardio into shape for the shoot. Yes, the final film is all in one take. Everything was shot on the Oxford College of Emory campus.

New findings at grandmas

4 Mar

I stopped by my uncle’s office the other day to see the tools that I can use in the future DIYs.
If Eiken was in Japan, this is where we will spend most of our time making stuff!

Here is my uncle turning the other way at his small office room.

Here are some connectors I found lying around the store.

I was wondering where the pipes were, and found them not inside the store but outside in the cold.

Here are some of the pipes, they seem really old and very very dusty.
But does it matter?

Eiken I will have the lounge ready and will negotiate with my unclw about the materials. You prob will have the rig and all so we can make somethinf bigger?
I will take pics of the open space we can use to shoot.
