Mid-Century Modern, WHAT?!

21 Oct

Yes, I have been working hard to keep my room clean.

But you know what,,, it is difficult,,, because day by day, more and more, stuff fill up your room.

I moved to Tokyo in the beginning of 2015.

Let me just show you my room and how it is set up.

You never know,,, it may help someone layout their room…;P

I always wanted a long desk so here is my setup.

I got two muji desks that are L120cm x W60cm each. I first bought two “Dulton Stool Clipper 2s” ivory and grey.

I then bought the Eames plastic arm chair in Peacock blue. (Top picture)

I think its a rare color, haven’t seen it anywhere.

Fresh iMac (2010)

27 Sep

The other day (a month ago… to be exact)
A well known man of mine gave me an aluminum box. Engraved on the back was an apple mark.

He told me that possibly the hdd died out on it.
He didn’t want to tackle the time to go through procedures to get “this” surfing the web.

So,,, I became the lucky one, to adapt this product.

Its a 27in Mid 2010, iMac
with 16gb of RAM

I have decided to give it a shot to replace the dead HDD with an SSD.

with a lot of help from ifixit.com I was able to get the machine running again!

the cost was roughly around $300.

That said,,, I am back to have fun. just fun.

P.S. Steezy bought an iMac !

Specifications on my iMac set up is listed below
1. The site that navigated this project.

2. The SSD i used “Crucial MX100 SSD 512 GB”

3. Mac SSD Mounter (bought from Japanese Site)

4. “SSD Fan Control” app to control the fan. (Since I had to take off the thermal sensor.

I finally ordered some hand-stitching tools for leather, and received them today.

Took me 30 mins to stitch my iPod and fountain pen sleeves.

Looking good, don’t you think?

Solve the “tangled cable” problem….

Colette Carnaval

15 Mar IMG_9520

Colette Carnaval was absolutely the hottest place for fashion goers, children, teens, students, and adults to attend on the 10th and 11th of March 2012.

The event gathered a crowd of people with the newest and slickest brands of clothing. This event was held to celebrate Colette Shop’s 15th birthday! (www.colette.fr)

So what was going on inside the “Party tent?”

Well, Colette is a select shop and the brands that have their goods sold at the store, held a booth inside the Carnaval, organizing their own way to celebrate the 15th  birthday. The booths varied from arts and craft, bowling, video game contests, basketball shooting, photo shoots and etc. I was surprised to meet Mark the cobrasnake  (who gave me a pose with his special Colette sunglasses) and was lucky to spot Pedro Winter of Ed banger (faaaar away).

Here are pictures from the event.

Overall, Happy Birthday Colette and for people who are planning to go to Paris, stop by Colette! You will not Regret!

Au revoir!

Fountain pen sleeve

28 Feb

If you’ve been reading my post, you may already know that I’ve recently started using a Parker fountain pen at work.

I really love the pen, but I didn’t like the way it rolled around in my Field Theories Portfolio cuz it might get scratched, or the cap might come off.

That’s why I made a sleeve for it. The pen sits very snug in the sleeve, and I’m loving it.

iPod nano sleeve

28 Feb

As much as I liked the iPod nano case I made, I didn’t really like all the rivets I had to use.

Although I really like the look of sewn leather, I don’t really feel like buying the tools for sewing…YET.

I was looking for a simple way to put two pieces of leather together, and have a really simple looking result. Then it came to me….

I went to a home depot last Saturday and bought a strong leather glue.

I then made a new sleeve for my iPod nano.
